VERIFY MY PAINT CODE
Need to verify your paint code?
I’ll show you exactly where Ford places the factory paint label so you can confirm paint code PQ before ordering.
Check the driver-side door jamb first. Some manufacturers use the glovebox, trunk, spare-tire well, firewall, or under-hood area.
Look for paint, color, C/TR, PNT, or exterior color. Use the exact factory code and verify it from the VIN when the label is unclear.

Apply • Level • Blend
You’re repairing a Ford finished in Race Red. The Apply • Level • Blend process is the same regardless of color, but using your exact factory-matched Dr. ColorChip paint ensures the best possible repair.
1ApplyApply a small amount of factory-matched paint beside the chip with the included brush or pipette, or squeeze a small droplet from the touch-up paint bottle.
2LevelLevel the paint with the supplied squeegee or UltraBrush, or lightly swipe it across the chip using the flat side of your gloved thumb or finger.
3BlendShake SealAct™ vigorously for 10 seconds. Moisten a small section of the cloth, then use very light pressure and a rapid back-and-forth motion to remove excess paint. SealAct™ also seals the repair, so no separate clear coat is needed.
